What To Expect

Discussion
All treatment sessions begin with a discussion about your horse. We will discuss your horse’s history and I will collect information on their current exercise routine and environment, future goals, and any concerns you may have.

 Assessment

  • Dynamic assessment

During the dynamic assessment I will watch your horse move to look for any movement disfunction               or  asymmetries and gait abnormalities

  • Static assessment
During a static assessment I will be observing your horses’ posture and conformation. Further to this, manual palpation techniques using specific and comprehensive diagnostic testing methods gained during my diploma will enable me to assess for muscular discomfort, spasm, swelling and tenderness.

Treatment
My assessment will allow me to implement the best treatment plan for your horse. My therapy focuses on the muscular system, which in turn can influence the fascia, joints, ligaments, and posture.

I work using soft tissue manipulation (a series of massage techniques to improve the mobility of tissues, aid recovery and support muscular health), trigger point therapy and soft tissue and positional release.

If required I also implement various other techniques such as mobilisation and positional release, myofascial release, targeted therapeutic stretches and use of the Fascial Edge tool and kinesiology taping.

Follow up report

Following treatment, a full post treatment report will be sent to you covering the treatment session. This may also include suggested targeted therapeutic stretches and exercises to work on between sessions.
